Amethyst – Astrology & Tarot

DESIGN BRIEF

Teri was my surprise client during lockdown. She wanted a logo that brought together the specific visual elements she had in mind and the story behind her calling:

• As a Virgo, Teri wanted the symbol of her star sign to represent her in the centre of the design.
• Around this is the moon which symbolises the unconscious, the sun which symbolises energy and the self, and the stars which symbolise spirit. The latter has a line cutting through the centre which shows balance.
• Amethyst activates spiritual awareness, opens intuition and enhances psychic abilities. It sits below the rest of the design, representing the energising of the other elements.
• Above is a lotus flower, the symbol of enlightenment, self-regeneration and rebirth. I intended for the lotus flower to be more fluid in comparison to the sharpness of the rest of the design, to represent the natural world around us.
• The whole design is connected with a thread that runs down the middle which represents our connection with the universe and each other.
• Teri’s choice of celestial purple is surrounded by a harmonious blue representing calm, freedom, inspiration and the sky above us.

‘It was a great pleasure to work with Ranjit on the creation of a logo for my new business. Given the amount of time that we had due to the budget limitation I had, I think she was very good at understanding my wishes and really met my expectations, even went beyond, with full dedication and continuous communication.’
